A long night but got one in the end !

Went out last night hoping to see a .17HMR in action however my guest of THL who can remain nameless (unless he wants to admit it ) brought his..22lr bolt instead of his.17HMR bolt:icon_redface: , so that took the bunny bashing off the nights agenda :wallbash: !

 

He was not the only one to be embarassed though as later on when we were calling in a fox and I went to take the shot nothing happened as I hadn't loaded a round , then by the time I loaded the rounded and took the shot I well and truly fluffed it .

 

Anyway it was one of those nights when all the foxes that you have seen all week long suddenly aren't about and it was a good couple of hours before we saw anything else. After a bit of hide and seek by the next fox we saw and us driving about manically second guessing where it was headed I finally managed to nail it :

 

 

After that we did spot a couple more foxes but they are will both be about to live another day ........ but not through my doing

 

Anyway it was a good night and a nice to meet up with someone else off the THL

Cheers for a great night Dave (still cant believe I lifted the wrong bolt ) .It was still good to meet up with someone else from the site and get to experience night vision shooting for the first time (even although I had they 2 misses ,ill but it down to unfamiliar rifle and scope ).If the invite comes again ill let you see how I can shoot and how the 17hmr shoots.
